About Us

Rev. Joshua P. Dub was ordained and installed at St. John’s on May 14, 2023.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Peru, Indiana in Miami County is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

In 1861 the first Lutheran emigrants to Peru built the first St. John’s Lutheran Church on West Second Street. This small frame building housed worship services until 1875 when the present church building was erected on the corner of Main and Fremont. Nearly 150 years later, this Gothic building still remains a lively and devout place of worship.

What we believe is what we teach. As a Lutheran Church, we believe, teach, and confess the faith passed down to us from our fathers and mothers before us. You can find what we believe here. For more, you can also check out the Book of Concord.
